I am Michael L. Edwards, Attorney at Law, and I have more than 30 years of experience representing clients throughout Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. My experience in a variety of practice areas allows me to see and understand the connections between various areas, and it helps me protect my clients' best interests throughout the legal process. - Bankruptcy: I represent creditors and debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy matters. In this economy, it can be tough to make ends meet. Debtors get behind on their payments, and it can feel impossible to get caught up. Creditors try everything they can to recover amounts due, but many are unsuccessful. I help debtors determine a plan to help them regain their financial stability and help creditors receive what is rightfully theirs.
- Family law: I work with clients to help them resolve their family law concerns. I protect my clients' best interests in all divorce matters, including custody, child support, spousal support and visitation. I also represent clients in juvenile dependency cases, help them draft prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and represent them in relocation and interstate conflict of law cases.
- Criminal defense: I defend clients who are facing misdemeanor to felony charges at the state or federal level. During my practice, I have defended 22 clients who were facing the death penalty, and I have handled over 200 jury trials. I have the experience to protect your freedom and criminal record at every step of the process.
- Civil litigation: I represent clients who are filing a lawsuit against another person or who need to defend a lawsuit that has been brought against them. I offer clients the representation they need in personal injury, construction defects, breach of contract and debt collection defense matters.
